As educators, we are often dwell “in the wild” of ambiguity and uncertainty, attempting to prepare students for practice while breaking new ground either in industrial and public practice or as researchers. In this view, educators are both base-camp and adventurer.
The Summit seeks talks, 20 minutes in length, that respond through the lens of education to two two areas of reflection: interaction design in flux, and experimentation. Those talks that address pedagogy or models of partnership are particularly encouraged.
Workshops at the Education Summit are for those people who are looking to build community through discussion or collaboration, especially in pursuit of new methodologies, pedagogical techniques, or emerging technologies. They can take the form of discussion roundtables or active collaboration.
The summit is seeking submissions for two-hour and four-hour workshops.
Why speak at the Education Summit?
The Education Summit will bring together an international audience of academics, educators, and industry and public practitioners interested in furthering the goals of interaction design education. The Summit is small and personal, and as results speakers find a committed and engaged audience. We also intend to publish proceedings from our conference so as to serve the great goal of knowledge generation.
How are we selecting presenters?
Your proposals are peer reviewed by members from the IxDA community - our selection committee.
We are reviewing based on quality, the speaker’s experience, and how well it aligns with the conference themes and other presentations.
Diversity and Accessibility
As a part of Interaction 19, the Education Summit is committed to representing the diversity and the multiple facets of interaction design. Each voice is important.
