Since 2013, the Interaction Design Education Summit has united practitioners, educators, and students who seek to explore the state of design education and its future.

Each new Summit benefits from the previous one as we evolve the event based on new perspectives. What remains consistent is a focus on advancing interaction design education across all levels—from primary, secondary, and postsecondary education to professional learning, career development, and design management. We believe that learning does not start nor stop in school, and we aim to advance learning in interaction design over the arc of one’s career and one’s life.

The Interaction Design Education Summit holds its fifth gathering as part of Interaction 17 in New York City. This year’s Summit will be hosted at the School of Visual Arts, Education Partner for Interaction 17.

The Summit will kick off Friday evening, February 3 and offer a full day of programming Saturday, February 4.
